This post is a couple days late, but we celebrated the one-year anniversary of being on the road on June 9th! Most days, it doesn't seem like a year has already gone by! We celebrated with some special "home baked" goods. Morgan made some bread rolls to go with dinner and she also hooked us up with brownies baked in the trailer! One year into our trip, the kids are up to about 48 Junior Ranger badges from the National Parks and they have posted 6 episodes of their original Lego Legends video series. We have shared more meals together than we probably will in the next several years combined and the special places we have visited will undoubtedly spawn stories we will all share for the rest of our lives. When people learn of our trip, lots of folks say something to the effect "what a great experience for your kids" and I always smile and think about what a great experience this has been for me and Lori to be able to share this time with our kids and see so many sites through their eyes! Yeah, there are moments when the kids have to be reminded we don't rough-house in the bunk house and that "stop touching me" really isn't possible in our close quarters, but sharing the experience as our kids wipe the mist off their faces at Niagara Falls or devour freshly churned ice cream at Ben & Jerry's or make Lego movies together are times that fill my heart with gratitude for the blessings of family life and especially for this extended adventure with the people who matter most to me!

Somehow, I have a feeling the 9th of June will bring a special Travel Anniversary celebration every year from here on out--including swapping of stories and memories for anyand all near enough to hear, enjoy and appreciate!!! Hopefully the journals get pooled and possibly even published!
